Lesson 3 — One shape, in G

Frets 2 to 5 only. Press one dot at a time, in number order, low string to high string. Amber dots are G, the home note.

What you’re playing, in order:

1. G (low E string, fret 3) — home
2. A (low E, fret 5)
3. B (A string, fret 2)
4. C (A string, fret 3)
5. D (A string, fret 5)
6. E (D string, fret 2)
7. G (D string, fret 5) — home again, one octave up

Dots 8 to 13 are the same six notes repeated higher. Once 1 to 7 feels easy, keep going.

Practice: play 1–7 ten times. Then put on any song in G (G, C, D, Em) and play these notes in any order you like. They will all fit.
